"Good Afternoon everyone,

It is my great pleasure to congratulate EB, RA, SH, GWC, and SG on achieving your CPD-accredited certificates in Maths and English.

This is a wonderful accomplishment. These accreditations are more than certificates — they are stepping stones to further education, greater confidence, and new opportunities. You have shown dedication, resilience, and commitment, and you should be extremely proud of yourselves. I know I certainly am.

Today is not just about academic success — it is about recognising determination and progress. For students with Special Educational Needs, the journey can often require additional courage and perseverance. Having this achievement acknowledged at the highest civic level sends a powerful message: you are valued, you are seen, and our city is proud of you.

I would also like to thank the parents and families. Your encouragement, patience, and unwavering support have played a vital role in reaching this milestone. Success like this is never achieved alone.

My sincere thanks go to Razia Bhutt, Assistant Director, Kerry Baude and Ezinne Waudby from Commissioning, Josephine More, Serena Sparks, Holly Hinds, Kate Squires, and Anthony Hewetson from Home Bridging for their dedication to this programme. Your work will make a lasting and positive difference.

Finally, heartfelt thanks to Alethea Aldred-Griffiths & Ikeela Sealey. As proud Brummies, you have created a unique and inclusive programme that is enhancing the prospects of truly wonderful young people.
